Information we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the game.

• Account information: if you sign in, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from your chosen provider (Google, Discord) or your email (magic link).
• Content you create: the fish you draw (stored as an image), plus the name, score, and weight generated for it.
• Profile details you add: an optional display name, bio, country, and avatar.
• Usage data: basic analytics such as pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, collected to understand and improve the game.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we access only your basic Google profile (name, email address, and profile picture). We use it solely to create and secure your account, show your name on your fish and profile, and let you claim the fish you draw.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

How we use information

• To run core features: publishing your fish to the shared tank, naming and scoring it, feeding, leaderboards, and share cards.
• To create and secure your account and let you claim and manage your fish.
• To understand usage and improve the game.
• To keep the service safe — for example, detecting abuse and moderating inappropriate content.

How your content is shown

DrawAFish is a shared, public game. Fish you publish — along with their name, score, and the display name of their creator — appear publicly in the tank, gallery, leaderboards, and on shareable cards and pages. Do not draw anything you would not want to be public.

Service providers we use

We share data with the infrastructure providers that power the game:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Cloudflare R2 — storage of fish images.
• Vercel — hosting, and the AI Gateway used to name and score fish.
• Google and Discord — only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — privacy-conscious usage analytics.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference, and analytics cookies to measure usage. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account and the fish you create until you ask us to delete them. Anonymous drawings remain part of the public tank. You can request deletion of your account and content at any time by contacting us.

Your rights and choices

You can edit your profile at any time, and you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children's privacy

DrawAFish is family-friendly, and drawing is anonymous and requires no account. Accounts are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent; if you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
